O R D E R :
In the reference first read above, the Government have issued orders for
appointment of State and District Appropriate Authorities and for constitution of
Advisory Committees.
2. In the reference sixth read above, the Commissioner of Family Welfare,
A.P., Hyderabad has requested the Government to appoint Collector & District
Magistrate to act as Chairman/Chairperson for the District Advisory Committee for Pre
Conception & Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of Sex Selection) Act,
1994, as suggested by the National Inspection and Monitoring Committee
communicated by the Government of India in the reference fifth read above.
4. The Government after careful examination have decided to issue
Amendment to the orders issued in the reference second read above and appoint the
Collector & District Magistrates of all Districts as Chairman/ Chairperson of the District
Advisory Committees of the respective Districts.
5. Accordingly, the following notification will be published in the
Extraordinary issue of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette, dated 1st December, 2006 :-
NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (5) and (6) of
Section-17 of the Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (Regulation and Prevention of

Misuse) Act, 1994 (Central Act 57 of 1994) the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby
issue the following amendment to the State Advisory Committee constituted vide
G.O.Ms.No.280, HM&FW(D1) Dept., dt.10-7-2001.
AMENDMENT
In the Notification-II, District Level Advisory Committee for the Pre-natal
Diagnostic Techniques (Regulation and Prevention of Misuse) Act, 1994, the following
shall be substituted :-
1 District Collector & District Magistrate Chairman/Chairperson
2 Three Medical Experts from amongst
Gynaecologists, Obstetricians, Paediatricians
& Medical Geneticists (preferably those
working in the Government)
Members (to be selected by
District Collector)
3 Public Prosecutor/ Legal Expert Member
4 District Information and Public Relations
Officer
Member
5 Three eminent Social Workers of whom not
less than one shall be from amongst
representative of Women’s Organisations
Member (to be nominated by
the District Collector)
